Freestyle/Freeride Programs Registration

AVSC offers a broad range of outstanding Freestyle/Freeride Programs where older athletes can choose their focus in Moguls (Freestyle), Freeride (Big Mountain), Pipe & Park (Freeskiing), or a combination of disciplines. Younger athletes participate in well-rounded programs, helping them develop into strong all mountain skiers while building foundational skills for all Freestyle disciplines. Whether your goal is an X Games podium and going to the Olympics, like AVSC alumni Alex Ferreira and Hanna Faulhaber, or you want to learn new tricks in the safest ways possible, we have the program to fit your needs.

AVSC is the proud winner of the US Ski & Snowboard's Freeski Club of the year for the third time, winning in 2018, 2022 and 2024!

HOW TO REGISTER

Registration for 2026-2027 Winter Programs

Registration opens July 1, 2026. If you have used Campminder before with us, please use the same login and do not create a duplicate!

Scholarships are available for all team programs based on need. Scholarship application coming soon. Athletes applying for a scholarship must submit their registration and scholarship application by the early registration deadline (August 1, 2026). A $100 - $600 deposit (dependent on program) is required to apply for a scholarship. Scholarships are only available to residents of the greater Roaring Fork Valley. Post-graduate athletes are not eligible for scholarships.

COMPETITIVE PROGRAMS

Our Competitive Programs are designed for competitive athletes. Freestyle skiing is their passion. They want the highest level of opportunity – working with the most experienced coaches, having the most hands-on equipment recommendations, travelling to the highest level of competition for their age group. They want to give skiing their all; they are fully committed and excited to invest a significant amount of time and energy year-round in pursuit of becoming the very best Freestyle skier that they can be! Athletes who would benefit from an additional year in an age group due to skiing ability or biological development can stay in age groups for an additional year.

U10 COMP TEAM (AGE 7-9; BIRTH YEAR 2017-2019)

Athletes will train from November 18 – April 10 starting with some dryland but primarily focused on on-snow training.
This group will ski for 60+ days, meeting on Wednesday afternoons and weekends. Holiday + Spring Break Camp included.
Athletes will have the opportunity to participate in travel competitions (families coordinate transportation and housing).
Early Sign-up Fee: $5,030. Regular Program Fee: $5,410. Additional Parent Work Deposit $550.

U12 COMP TEAM (AGE 9-11; BIRTH YEAR 2015-2016)

Note: Athletes who are age nine can join the U12 Team with approval from Freestyle Director, Eric Knight.
Athletes will experience and train in all Freestyle Disciplines with the ability to specialize (Moguls, Park & Pipe, Freeride [Big Mtn]).
Athletes will train most of the year, starting August 1st with dryland 2x/week in the summer.
This group will ski for 90+ days, training throughout the week. Holiday, Spring Break, and Buttermilk Glacier Camps included.
Athletes will have the opportunity to participate in travel competitions (families coordinate transportation and housing).
Early Sign-up Fee: $6,390. Regular Program Fee: $6,875. Additional Parent Work Deposit $550.

COMP TEAM (AGE 12+) MOGULS | PARK & PIPE | COMBO (Moguls, Park & Pipe, Freeride [Big Mountain])

Athletes will choose a Freestyle discipline (Moguls, Park + Pipe, Freeride [Big Mtn]) or a COMBO of all three.
Athletes will participate in year-round training, starting August 1st including dryland 4x/week in the off season, and will be on snow whenever possible.
This group will ski for 100+ days, training throughout the week. Buttermilk Glacier Camps included.
Athletes will have the opportunity to participate in travel competitions with team support (AVSC coordinates transportation and housing; athletes travel as a team at this age).
Early Sign-up Fee: $8,070. Regular Program Fee: $8,680. Additional Parent Work Deposit $710.

U15 FREERIDE (BIG MTN) (AGE 12-14; BIRTH YEAR 2012-2014)

Note: Athletes must be a Level 9+ skier and will undergo a first day assessment.
Athletes will participate in year-round training, starting August 1st including dryland 4x/week in the off season, and will be on snow whenever possible.
This group will ski for 100+ days, training throughout the week. Buttermilk Glacier Camps included.
Athletes will have opportunities to participate in team travel for competitions (families coordinate transportation and housing when team travel not available). Families will be billed for athlete & coaches travel costs.
Early Sign-up Fee: $8,070. Regular Program Fee: $8,680. Additional Parent Work Deposit $710.

U19 FREERIDE (BIG MTN) (AGE 15-18; BIRTH YEAR 2008-2011)

Note: Athletes must be a Level 9+ skier and will undergo a first day assessment.
Athletes will participate in year-round training, starting August 1st including dryland 4x/week in the offseason, and will be on snow whenever possible.
This group will ski for 100+ days, training throughout the week. Buttermilk Glacier Camps included.
Athletes will have opportunities to participate in team travel for competitions (families coordinate transportation and housing when team travel not available). Families will be billed for athlete & coaches travel costs.
Early Sign-up Fee: $8,070. Regular Program Fee: $8,680. Additional Parent Work Deposit $710.

DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

Our Development Programs are designed for athletes who are focused on progressing in their sport, getting outside, and having fun. They are enthusiastic skiers who want to develop freestyle and all-mountain skills while enjoying the camaraderie of a team. While they’re passionate skiers, they want to enjoy summers and holiday breaks free of training (dryland and Holiday Camps are not included in program fees for Development Programs). While they may be interested in competing at a local level, they’re not looking to travel far afield or pursue high-level competition. Looking for a program with a higher level of commitment? Check out our Competitive Programs above. Athletes who would benefit from an additional year in an age group due to skiing ability or biological development can stay in age groups for an additional year.

Note: Any development athletes that qualify and compete at USASA Nationals will be charged $500 for extended training leading up to and at Nationals (this includes coaches expense charge at Nationals).

Athletes will experience and train in all Freestyle disciplines (Moguls, Park & Pipe, Freeride [Big Mtn]).
Athletes will ski each weekend from December 12 - March 21 plus 1/18 (MLK) and 2/15 (Pres. Day).
Athletes will have the opportunity to participate in local competitions. Triple Crown Comp in March

TELEMARK BEGINNER TEAM (AGE 10+)

Athletes must be first year telemark skiers and will ski for 15 weekend days December 12 – April 3. No Training over Spring Break.

TELEMARK DEVELOPMENT TEAM (AGE 10+)

Athletes will ski for 45 days, meeting on weekends and Wednesday afternoons from December 12 – April 4. No Training over Spring Break (March 20, 21, 27, 28).
Athletes will have the opportunity to participate in travel competitions (families coordinate transportation and housing).
Early Sign-up Fee: $5,030. Regular Program Fee: $5,410. Additional Parent Work Deposit $420.

REFUND POLICY

TEAM Refund Policy: 100% Refunds are permitted before the program start date (less a $100 processing fee). Once the program start date has passed, refunds are only available for documented medical reasons that result in a season-ending injury. Refunds are issued as follows: 50% Before January 1; 25% between January 1 and February 1; no refunds after February 1.

This season-ending injury refund assumes complete withdrawal from all AVSC programming, including Strength & Conditioning or athletic training services. (Devo/Weekend programs through the end of the season; Team programs through the end of July) All refunds are subject to a $100 processing fee.
