Mountain Biking

At the core of our mountain bike programming is skill development, confidence, risk management and progression inside a team environment.  Whether your athlete leans toward endurance or gravity, the fundamentals of speed control, cornering, body position, jumping/air awareness, climbing, pumping, and line choice all remain the same. Regardless of discipline focus, all groups will ride trails and be expected to pedal.

Trail stewardship, trail building and maintenance, bike maintenance and trail etiquette are all integral to AVSC mountain bike programming.

All programming will start & finish at Crown Mountain Park in El Jebel.  Crown Mountain Park has spent years planning and investing in cycling related infrastructure (dirt jumps, pumptrack, airbag, BMX track, cross-country skills trails).  AVSC Mountain Bike Programs are excited to have access to the Bike Park at Crown Mountain for our opening rider assessment and fun throughout the week.  All weeks will include time at Crown Mountain Park and lots of milage out on our local trail systems!

Scholarships are available for bike programs, and further information and application can be found within the registration process. Please contact Meredith Elwell Melwell@teamavsc.org for more information. If you are in need of equipment, you may be able to borrow a bike from AVSC’s fleet – contact Meredith!
