Bookkeeper

Position Title: Bookkeeper
Position Type: Part-Time / Non-Exempt

Reports to: Director of Finance
Compensation: $40 / hour
Supporting the Finance team, the Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club. This role manages routine bookkeeping functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with accounting software and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are recorded in the accounting system in a timely manner
  • Process and record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, ensuring all charges, receipts, and reimbursements are properly documented and coded
  • Review and reconcile employee credit card statements and expense reports, verifying receipts and proper expense classification
  • Assist with general ledger maintenance and journal entries
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and support collection of receivables when necessary
  • Maintain vendor files and assist with vendor communications related to payments
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes
  • Prepare basic financial reports and summaries for management review
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and support audit or tax preparation requests
  • Assist with payroll data entry or coordination with payroll providers, if applicable
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and accounting procedures

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required
  • 2–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Proficiency in accounting software, specifically QuickBooks
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Experience supporting small businesses or nonprofit organizations
  • Basic understanding of GAAP accounting principles
