24th Annual Nordic Bonfire Dinner Supports the
Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club Nordic Program
(Aspen, CO) The annual AVSC Nordic Bonfire Dinner, one of Aspens most unique winter outdoor fundraisers, will be held Saturday, January 10 from 6:00-8:00 PM. The event features an evening of cross-country skiing, eating, drinking, and socializing under the moon and stars at the Cross Country Center on the Aspen Golf Course.
The Bonfire Dinner draws hundreds of cross-country skiers and snowshoers of all ages and abilities. Those who attend this progressive dinner will ski or snowshoe, guided by starlight and luminaries, from bonfire to bonfire, where they will enjoy hot spiced wine & cocoa, appetizers, and soups & stews from some of Aspens most popular restaurants.
The Bonfire Dinner has really caught on over the years. Its a great way to spend an evening with family and friends, said Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club Nordic Director, John Callahan. Id especially like to invite Aspens visitors. Im sure it will be one of the highlights of your trip.
Local restaurants donate all food, beverages and appetizers, which are served at stations set up over a 3-kilometer trail. The AVSC Nordic team members and their parents, coaches, and Aspen Cross Country Center employees volunteer their time to set up the event and serve the food and beverages.
There is no other event in Aspen quite like this one, said AVSC Nordic Coach, Travis Moore. Its a wonderful opportunity for families from the youngest to the oldest to get out on cross country skis or snowshoes and socialize. Its exciting to ski around the tracks by star and candlelight.
Tickets are on sale at the Wheeler Box Office, the Aspen Cross Country Center, or the AVSC clubhouse. Tickets may also be purchased at the door but tickets sales are limited so advance purchase is encouraged. Ticket are $20 in advance, $25 day of event. Children 13 and under are $10 in advance, $15 day of event, and Family Packages are $45 in advance and $50 day of event. Rental equipment will be available at the Cross Country Center.
All proceeds from the AVSC Nordic Bonfire Dinner and equipment rental directly support the AVSC Nordic program.
